Shadows of the Night
2006-06-08 23:24:00
When the shadows of the night
Come floating 'round my open door,
I ofttimes think of the departed,
Those who have gone to the other shore.
When the sound of rustling robes
Falls gently on my ear;
And light comes streaming through the darkness,
Down from the celestial atmosphere.
Then the voices of the night
Mingle with the flow of time,
In a sort of solemn cadence,
Like the ghastly mariner's rhyme.
- John Preston Canpell (complete text)
I'm back. Having spent five exciting days in Leipzig on the Wave-Gotik-Treffen, I'm still a little bit exhausted from all the dancing and drinking but the good news is that it also offered a lot of suitable subjects for my camera.
This one I shot at one of the festival's parties that took place in the Moritzbastei, an old now restored medieval fortification. I think it captures the atmosphere quite well.
