My Little Piece Of Zen

Today it's my second day at the office again after a four week holiday. The first few says are always the toughest getting into all the little projects and procedures again. So this is for me (and everybody else too of course) who's looking for a Little Piece of Zen through a long day.

I built the little stone sculpture on the bank of river Weissach near Kreuth (see map) where we spent one of the not so rainy days of this summer with my mother hiking through the hills and enjoying the fresh mountain air.

I really love this place in the evenings. There's this beautiful tree and almost always great clouds and skies. Unfortunately the view and the tree will be gone sooner rather than later giving way to a few more houses in the little village of Burgstall.

Closeup of a model landscape that was shown in an exhibition in the Technische Universät München. The exhibition mostly showed concepts and models for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, which Garmisch-Partenkirchen applied for.

Eckbauer Panorama

This year the team and I did a hiking tour again. After a one and a half hour's walk up the mountain we reached the Eckbauer restaurant where we had lunch. I shot the 94 individual images that make up this 180° panorama from the restaurant's terrace (assembled using Autostitch).
There's also a high resolution version with some markers that identify some prominent mountains, including the famous Zugspitze (2962m), the highest mountain in Germany.
