Vienna 2022

Vienna's Prater in the morning.

At the beginning of March 2022 the pandemic was slowing down or starting to be ignored, depeding on who you asked. The Prater, the permanent fair in the heart of Vienna probably hadn't seen many visitors in the previous two years. Now it was starting to get attention again.

Winter and the two previous years during which the rides and booths had been neglectied had left their mark. Colors were crumbling and fading. Dirt, leaves and dust accumulated on every surface.
I was intrigued and a little spooked. The atmosphere a mix of ignorance, reserved excitement and careful hope.
